My Mom is type 2, and she sees a diabetes specialist. She recommended the book below to her. My Mom has since switched to a Vegan diet, and her sugar is much more controlled, and she's losing weight and getting healthier. I don't know if any info in it would relate to type 1, but I thought you might want to check it out: Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reve...tem for Reversing Diabetes without Drugs
