Just got it today, but I'll post pictures and a full review this weekend.

Here are my initial thoughts...

I don't own a Maxpedition Jumbo, but I have seen them in person at a local shop and have investigated it thoroughly. I've also watched every Youtube video about them, I'm sure. I have also been carrying the Maxpedition "Colossus" for two years now almost every day. So I'd say I'm familiar with their quality.

This Leapers UTG "Tactical Messenger Bag" is almost identical. At first glance (and careful inspection) the only differences so far are the logos, the brand of zippers (not YYK as far as I can tell), and the backside of the nylon which has a vinyl/rubber type look and feel. Now, is this a bad thing? time will tell, but it may aid in it's ability to resist water. I'll have to check that out this weekend. The "storm collar" on the main pouch does seem cheaper, but this too may be fine, or a horrible trade for saving a few dollars.

The zippers seem strong. Again, time will tell. But the bag has all the same little features of the Jumbo. Keyper in the front pocket, side sleeve behind the side pocket as well as a loop field in the CCW pocket. The padding on the back looks and feels the same as the Maxped and the material feels just as stout and tough.

I'd say, for less than $30 brand new, I'm pretty happy so far. But like I said, time will tell and I'll take it up the canyon this Saturday and give it a good field test with some good pictures.

Until then, sorry for the quality...

Looks like a sweet bag. Where did you get it at? Looking forward to the review on this.

I got it here. I also found a coupon code and saved an extra 5%.

...

My wife's a coupon queen, she's got me trained. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> She wants one in black, and at less than $30... no problem!

I won't promise anything, but I may do a video. I WILL take lots of good pics of it on Mt. Timpanogos however. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Joe I ordered that exact same bag per our posts in the Max Ped Jumbo thread. My UTG bag is supposed to be here by Friday, looking forward to getting my hands on it.

I can't wait to hear full reviews. I know it's not going to be the exact quality but I'd bet it comes close for the price.

It will be good to have more than one opinion on this as I'm sure several dogs want a bag like this but don't want to spend the money.

It will be nice to have an alternative.

What color did you order?

If you look at how much of a price difference their is (about $60!) there really is a lot of room to wiggle on quality. I don't think, however and at this point, that the ratio works that way.

Basically what I'm saying, is at 1/3 the cost, you aren't getting 1/3 the quality.

This seems to be a very nice bag! Especially for the money! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Would you use a reverse ratio 1/3 the cost 2/3 the quality? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

If I were a betting man I would say 85% the quality. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Although I'm not sure how you would measure that.

Either way we're talking "value".

Don't get me wrong, I love Maxpedition, I would own their entire catalog if I had the money. I was just looking for a less expensive alternative.

I completely agree, I am always looking for a great Value, which is why it takes me so long to buy anything, I have to way all the options. I have been trying to decide on a BoB for almost a year now! I really need to stop doing research on the internet.

Thank goodness for SYKCO and their "Superior Performance to Price Ratio" it doesn't take me long to pull the trigger on these products! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
