Pfft. I got a lightning bolt laceration in between the eyes.
The kids must make fun outside of earshot.
Scope-eye. Respect the rifles too.
Thanks for the vids, btw.

Those of us who like to play with sharp things sometimes pay the price. Every injury is a learning experience. My last serious cut was because I was using a lanyard. It was very hot and my hands were sweaty. I was doing some clearing with a very sharp machete when the handle slipped from my hand. So then I had this sharp 18" blade whipping around my wrist! It caught my knee and the blood trail is still visible on my back porch. So I don't think a lanyard is the answer. I know I don't use them any more.

I think you may be correct Horn Dog but I'm still toying with the idea. Maybe I'm just a little shell shocked.

I think of utmost importance is handle/grip design. There was an instance or two where the FSH moved a little in my hand but it never flew out. The two SY knives never flinched and I have 100% confidence in both. I am going to be clearing out some more of my yard in the next couple of weeks and will be putting the knives to use again. Each time I use them I discover more about what makes a great knife. All the online research in the world doesn't mean much; the knife must be experienced first hand.

That'll buff right out.

As a sage person once told me: "education is expensive, no matter how you get it".

Glad you're OK.

Have you checked out that website...thatwillbuffout ...funny stuff. The first bandage came off Wednesday. A few more days for the stitches. I can't wait to see the scar lol.

The first time it happened to me, I was about 8 and grabbed the part of the can that's left after opening it. The last time ( a couple of months ago) was when wiping a small Sebenza blade to clean it while protecting (I thought) my fingers with a piece of cloth. Those buggers cut deep. Lots of times in between. The horror!

I managed to drop a pretty fresh piece of steel today that ever so lightly brushed the tip of my index finger. Oh, the joy of bleeding in the office and typeing without my index finger. My cut is minor though, your looks pretty bad.
