Whats up Dogs. This is my first post. Nice place you have here. Is there the possibility to have custom work done to Scrap Yard knives, like there is for other Busse Kin blades? If so, who do I contact? I'd like to have some work done to my Dog Father, and an estimate would be great. Thanks!

I'm thinking the equivalent to a nuclear treatment would be cool. Some teeth along the spine would make an otherwise awesome knife, a little more fuctional. Maybe about half way from the tip, back to leave room for batoning.

Welcome to the Yard, from my understanding Dan doesn't offer any kind of customizing.
Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

Welcome to the Yard, from my understanding Dan doesn't offer any kind of customizing. *ahem!!*... Oh really? Thats a bummer. a-rock - I hope that your post was intended to be humorous, but I don't think it really belongs on the forum. Please refrain from posts that may be considered offensive or misconstrued as such. Tom

Yeah, I figured Busse and the Rats would only modify their own. Oh well, I certainly dont have the experience or tools to do it myself.

Of course there's Ban Tang, and I recall Jeremy Horton does mods too, but I haven't the slightest idea of how much they'd charge. There's even a couple Scrap Yard forumites who are trying their hands at knife-making who might be able to help you. Based on the amount of work involved (if the work is done by hand), I've always assumed that the cost of professional mods would probably exceed the value added. It might be worthwhile to get a knife vice and some good files and do it yourself -- it might not look as pretty as if you sent it to a shop, but it'll be a learning experience and it'll be truly yours.

Why would you need saw teeth when ya have the chopping power of the Dogfather ?
