i dont know about the D2 one by jerry but i think the BD isnt really a fillet knife...it doesnt really flex at all and the blade is rather thick, could still be done though.

I just would'nt call it a fillet knife.

Yeah the BD is a great knife to clean fish, but I would love to see an actual fillet knife - spring tempered 154cm and a thin blade would be a beautiful thing. Give it the exact same dimensions as the BDLE (except thickness) and it would be perfect.

The bird dog is one blade I never have held, but it looks like a very nice instrument.

The BDLE is awesome - its another one that Horn Dog convinced me I had to own. His praise pretty much directly sold me on both the NMSFNO and the BDLE, and both of them have turned out to be really great purchases.

The BDLE is just a brilliant kitchen / small game / fish knife. I use it as a steak knife all the time, and for chopping up just about anything during food prep.

I'm tempted to try to get my hands on another, and grind it down to a crazy thin profile to make a truly mean slicer. The only thing stopping me is the fact that 154cm is crazy tough to grind, so it would take forever.

I know that I used one of my Scrap Yards to stab a windshield, stab and cut through a hood and finally pounded against a steel bumper reinforcer with a 3 lb sledge, until it finally chipped and broke in half. But I guess you are talking legitimate use though.

What can I say though. I just like to push things to the extreme sometimes and not just take somebody elses word for it.
