If by durable you mean resistant to edge damage, I'd say DF. Res-C is MUCH easier on the hands too. Prolonged batoning through frozen hardwood can make your hands ring. Even with gloves.

The M9 has a more durable edge and a squirrel proof handle. But I'd say the overall blade of the DF is tougher. S7 is about as tough as steel gets.

the thin tip on the m9 puts it in second place. otherwise you'd never know a difference.
