I think maybe this one would be cheaper and a pretty nice little blade. Of course, there are those who will not buy CS.

Without going off on a CS rant, why won't people buy Cold Steel knives, Vic? I don't own any and I don't understand what the controversy is all about.
Over on BF there are huge long rants against Lynn Thompson. Of course, like most of you, I would prefer to buy from Dan, but I don't have to agree with all of Cold Steel's advertizing to enjoy their knives. Most of them have given me good service.

I'm with you on that one HornDog. I never cared about the over the top advertising of cold steel however they do make good bang for the buck stuff.

I don't know, but I don't think that it is critical in a small knife. I have never owned a Fallkniven, but have lusted after their Odin bowie for some time.

I like the look of that one too and the Thor. Nice leather handle.

Like Horn Dog said.. the majority of their military/wilderness knives are shorter blades VG10 stainless.. I think more for light bushcraft?
Not sure how that steel would fare under prying, batoning, heavy chopping, etc.

Not sure about their high end models..

With a knife named after a Norse God, how could you not!
I have tried to tell myself that the name has nothing to do with the appeal of a knife named Odin, but the voices in my head aren't buying that.
