I pretty much knew how things were going to go being that the S5LE's are INFI. I figured that there would be a lot of very seasoned Hogs anxious to grab up a bunch of these, making getting the lower numbers much more difficult.

I think we, me included, put a lot more significance into our JYD numbers than there really is, to the powers that be. It would be nice if a way could be found to honor the loyalty of the JYD's and their numbers, I can see how it does cause challenges too though.

I still would be nice to see "Loyal" SCKCO customers and "Proud" JYD's have an opportunity to get their numbers somehow to help show their continued support and enthusiasm for the Yard. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

First, I want to thank P-Easy for trading his #1 knife with me - he will end up with #124.
Secondly, I thank KnifeGuy and others for wanting to see me get my JYD #1 when knives are released.

I understand and appreciate the desire to get the #1 knife, as I would want it even if it was not my JYD number. It adds to the uniqueness and collectability for sure. However, I am MORE interested in maintaining harmony in the Scrap Yard than getting the #1 blades. The knife is a singular thing, whereas the Yard is a Brotherhood - a group thing. If someone receives the #1 blade and wants to keep it - so be it, with no hard feelings. I will not allow petty jealously to overtake my enjoyment of the Brotherhood of the Yard and all the great fellow Dogs here! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm not a JYD, however I think JYDs should benefit from their dedication to Scrap Yard by being offered their LE #. Those guys who were there supporting the company in the beginning will otherwise never get their JYD#.

As a new JYD, I would love to be able to get my # if I wanted it.

Actually, after further thought I am AGAINST what I wrote. For example, what's going to happen when there is, let's say 500 JYDs and only 300 LE knives made. Now what's going to happen? I know what I'd do: it goes on Ebay the minute I reserved it. And, every one else would lose out, JYD or not.

I know I have my JYD# on my MPLE thanks to Snotpig. It was way cool of him to hook me up on the JYD#. I offered my MUK up to the JYD whose number it was but he has not been active here since before I became a member. I tried contacting him through here and having others contact him but it was a no go deal--so I use my MUK now. If the JYD ever contacts me I would trade him in a heartbeat if he has one or can get me a MUK in replacement because I love it so much.

46 and 47 for sale on BF exchange now although seller is asking $285. Just thought I would post a heads up for those dogs.

I did'nt request my number....first come first served is fine by me....or no numbers at all which might be better....it's the knife that counts...I got 318 but if I had a JYD's No they could have it...
