Here's my 4th bussekin, the Swamp Rat Ratchet. After I held the Busse Paul's Hatchet, I knew I needed to get my hands on the res-c variant (thanks again CP!).

I actually liked the old school tan coating, but I already had bigger plans for this one.

Paint stripper, this klean-strip can works real well, it comes out as a thick gel so it wasn't to messy.

I was hoping I'd get lucky with the machine marks, but that's usually not the case with me.

Here she is now. Still need to clean up the spine and choil. I might take the grind higher in the future to achieve a full convex grind, but without a plunge line to work from, it's going to be a little tricky.

SR-101 rusts fast! I was cleaning it in the sink and before I reached the towel, brown spots already started appearing.

I love how sharp SR-101 gets.

Next is to make a compact little kydex sleeve that covers only the edge to keep the package small and light. Then it's time to test it out, I have some wood I need to clear in the backyard, more pictures later. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Thanks everyone, it could be better, but this was a first time for me so it was a learning experience. I'll have to go back later and fix it up.

I was whacking it against some 2x4, blasted through half of it fairly quick, more chopping power then I expected. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I rarely get lucky either.. Just once out of MANY stipped blades. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

YEAH it does. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I see brown a LOT while dipping, grinding and cleaning. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I sometimes wonder if I should have a dunk of oil instead of water for grinding and cleaning. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

That makes the rust worthwhile. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That is one wicked little tool, MRPink. You could skin a bear with it. Think how fast the blood would rust it! Nice work. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
