Nah- already have two Regs and they are just fine IMO <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. IMO, reinforcing the guard is about the only major mod The Regulator needs. How to do that if the handle is affixed by sliding it onto the tang is beyond me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> If reinforcing the guard is impossible (as I suspect it may be), I agree that the Reg is just fine the way it is. I wouldn't do a whole lot of batoning with it, though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Batoning with a fighting knife who would do a lot of that? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I would like to see something small before the Regular.

And the Bowie design was a do-everything knife, not just a fighter. Plus, we're talking about a third of an inch of differentially hardened, full flat ground SR-101. It's practically a splitting wedge. Who WOULDN'T want to baton with that???

I'm really digging the smaller blades like the MP LE and the Vex...Thinking about a Howling Rat - how does it compare? A SY version of the Zillz or the Waki would be cool tough. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

It's such a tough call because I love every single SYK that I own, and also the ones that I don't.
With the relatively smallish Scrapper 5 working through its run, and a pending mid-size Regulator, I think that something in the camp class, maybe in the range of the SJTAC/ASH, might be neat.
But, I really want to hear some hints from Dan so we can all start more educated guesses!
