Looks like fun. As a side note, on the fiskers, there is a fairly steel crease(?) between the edge and the rest of the blade. Reprofiling this crease off makes it a lot more efficient.

Got enough knives? :P

The Fiskars axes may not be the best cutting profile in the world, out of the box, but they do make a pretty fine product for the price range. It's so sad to see people get a typical 15$ brick-on-a-stick mystery brand axe from their hardware store, when they can spend a little bit more and get an axe that actually does work. It won't work as well as a Gransfors, but for the price you can't expect it to.

I suspect one of their considerations on the design was catering to people who are not familiar with using an axe, and will cheerfully use it to hack through seasoned ironwood, knots ... gravel... So making the edge relatively obtuse (but nowhere near as bad as nameless-brand crap) helps reduce damage from neophyte zeal.

Cool pics. The dogs are making me munchy.
BTW, how are those Fiskars. I know they sell their products through all of the major production knife manufacturers like Gerber, Buck and so on, but can they cut? I've never used one so I was curious.

Honestly guys those axes the other guys had worked great. one of my friends is a custom knife maker who dials in all of our tools to the utmost. he honestly can prlby make anything you have better X10 if you let him work on it.

Fiskars owns Gerber. I like mine! I also have a Fiskars brush hook (slingblade...mmmhmmm...) and a Fiskars Puukko.

I've got a couple of Fiskars and I like them.
I got a gerber for my birthday but haven't tried it yet

Luckily I've never ran across the gerber with the saw in the handle in a store, or I don't think I would pass it up.
