whats up fellas. i have been off the map forever. i am finishing up with BOLC II here at fort benning GA. i graduate tomorrow.

i just got online and checked the the sites i always do and saw that BUSSE has a new knife up; the tank buster. is this knife available to be purchased RIGHT NOW? if i place an order, will they charge me now and ship the thing out or do they have to actually make the thing first? what would be my time in getting the knife? i am heading up to fort lee VA for the next 4 months for Ordnance Officer's Basic Course and will have a hotel room at the courtyard marriott so i can have it shipped there if i have to. i just wanna try my hand at another busse since its been forever and only a scotch dispenser... i think this would be a good field knife as it looks like i could use it alot. it WILL NOT replace my beloved DMCG (nothing ever will - this knife should be named after me as you all know ) but i think it would be nice to have... but getting a sheath for it will take forever as i am sure jeff is backed up... any thoughts on this knife and if its ready to be shipped or has to be made... should i get it? how will it compare to the DMCG?

There will be a delay after you order it, as the tank buster is a normal release, and not a company store offering.

Personally, I'd much rather have an SJTAC, and infact that's what I bought. Basically the same length, but not quite so bulky and ridiculous. And no goofy-looking scallops on the blade...

i like the style of the Tank Buster and that is why i am interested in it. Its different from my other busse-kin blades and i think it will be a good knife.

i wonder how this would compare to the DMCG as a field/combat knife??? i wonder if the DMCG would even serve me better?

2LT - I have a Tank Buster and I really like it. I liked that they let you choose between choil/no choil, butt type and finishes, etc. I like the looks of it and the knife feels good in hand.

If you place an order now...there's no telling how long it will be before they charge you and ship it - they have already been sending them out, but because it is so custom, they will most likely have to make it first.

MM is a conservative (when it comes to knives anyway) He doesn't like the curves and stuff. Even if it were in his favorite Bama Clay, the curves would deter him.

I say if you like it- go for it, and purchase one.

The Tank Buster is MUCH bigger than the DMCG. I think the S5CG or LE would make an awesome field/combat knife.

the DMCG is the perfect soldier's knife. i have already resolved this, thats why im not sure if the TB would really "replace" it. i was just interested to see how it would fair against it. the DMCG isnt necessarily "light" but it is smaller or so it appears to be. and trust me, we rucked 14.3 miles the other night from 2314-0503 and it [censored] near killed me bc of all the crap we were carrying.. so im definitely wanting light. i might just stick with the DMCG... have i talked myself out of it???

The tank buster definitely doesn't meet my definition of "light". It's a full 2" longer overall than the DMCG, and has a large full tang handle. It will feel like a beast compared to the res-c handled dumpster mutt.

Yeah, the TB is definitely larger and heavier than the DM.

Welcome back!

Did you score a scrapper 5? Plenty of good edge, tough and light! Great knife for a soldier as well...
