Come on SY! I don't have a knife from you and I am waiting not so patiently for you to offer something, anything up for sale.
I have bought two other fixed blades in the last week just because I got tired of waiting on what SY would offer for sale. If it takes any longer, I am not going to have any money by the time the knife is available!

I bet (hope?) before the end of the year there will be something End of the year? That is disappointing. I wanted one soon to take camping and try out. When a knife is available, how many do they normally offer for sale? Will they sell out the first day or will there be hundreds and hundreds and be around for a while?

the way they do it now is they will announce a knife is coming, usually give a date for the sale (say next week) they will then put the knife for sale in the store. It will stay there for about 6 weeks, they will then announce it is coming down, once it is down it will be another 4 weeks til the knives start to ship. It is a long process but trust me it is a lot better than the way they used to do it. At least everyone now has a chance on scoring one. You may consider the exchange over on Bladeforums if patience/time is an issue. You can still score lots over there and with the economy the way it is prices are not all that bad.

Well, I haven't been around for too long but the last two offerings, S5 and S5LE were offered for sale on the site for a long while, several weeks. There was plenty of time to decide which colors for the S5 and then how many to buy. I thought about the S5LE until almost the end and am glad I finally decided to buy two of those. Also, there was a Busse "Ganza" and Desert Dog Fathers were sold but that only lasted for several hours, not days. I was lucky enough to get in on the DDFs during the Ganza. The purchase of Busse-kin knives requires either a lot of patience, or, if you don't have patience, a lot of money so you can buy on the secondary market. You can get a lot on the secondary but plan on spending 30-100% over the original offering price.

Scrap yard is NOT a company for the impatient. It will take more than a month from the day you can place your order for a blade until it is in your hands, since knives are made to order.
I suggest you hit up the secondary market if you absolutely have to have a knife soon.

Even if there was a new knife posted this week, you wouldn't recieve it until close to the end of the year. Still, there's nothing wrong with some wintertime camping. SY knives are usefull all year 'round.

And you never answered your PMs speedsix - I've been holding the scrapper 5 for you for two weeks, but I'm gonna put it back up on the bladeforums exchange if you don't make a decision soon
