I would suspect that center fire ammo would be more reliable than a rim fire cartridge, but I've never had any issues with that. Also you can get parts for the new gun and the Grendel has been abandoned long ago.

The 5.7x28mm out of a FiveseveN can match .22 WMR ballistics out of a rifle. So, it's a little better. Bullet construction of the 5.7 is probably better for SD.

Still, in real world use, there's probably not a tremendous advantage. So, like Tedwca said, "pretty much a toss up."

The .22WMR will get you more ammo for the money allowing more practice. That could be a deciding factor in real world application.

That was my guess and where I was aiming in my thought train.

Very good points. I guess if I am worried about the reliability I might purchase solely CCI etc. but then the price starts increasing also. The bullet design is likely quite a bit better. For a survival type pistol your final point may be the most important. Looking on gunbroker there do seem to be quite a few parts available but that does not mean I would be able to purchase the part I need in a time of need.

If you have to go might as well go with a smile on your face.

Hmm... If I sub a mossberg for the benelli and five seven for the second .45acp... I might be good.

Man sorry it took so long to answered...

The sheath is actually the one that comes with CS Recon Scout. It actually works pretty good. I removed the retention strap because it was snagging and scarring up the gaurd on my RS but I wish I had left it on there to see if it would have been good for the regulator. But it's the right size sheath for the regulator.

Hmm, ZEK... Over here, tough one. I think I'd 'borrow' a Land Rover and run the [censored] things over! Guns are so rare this side of the pond (apart from with the criminals of course) that having my DFCG and a couple of CS machetes makes me a candidate for king of the zombie killers...

IF we do get zombies can we have nice slow ones, not like the ones out of the 'Resident Evil' films that are too darn quick!? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
