A couple of months ago, I reached JYD status, largely in a flurry of posts helping a few other dogs make JYD (I noticed "Hey, I'm getting close now too...").

I became JYD#92, and as is custom, I went searching for "my" Challenge Coin.

I checked with Renee. No dice...it had been sold.

I posted in the forum looking for my JYD #92 coin, but sadly, while the JYD's immediately before me and after me turned up their coins, I could not find the owner of mine.

I resigned myself to pick one up at my leisure, as I couldn't match my number...such is life

Oddly, when I purchased a Desert Dogfather and posted the pix, this past Monday, my post drew an unsuspected response.....

It seems a member here, AZWELKE not only made the sheath shown in my pictures (unbeknownst to me), but also had Challenge Coin #92 in his possession! He said he had bought it and forgotten about it until he saw my post on the DDF. Even better, he offered to send it to me
Since it got here in a hurry, I can only surmise he shipped it the on Tuesday morning after receiving my address...long before, I'm sure, my payment to cover his expenses arrived. That's the kind of trust the Yard breeds.

This is why the Yard is one of my favorite places. Unlike most other forums, everyone here seems like a genuinely good guy, there's almost no bickering, and everyone seems like the kind of person you'd like to share dinner or drinks with. Everyone truly treats the other members as family.

So, with special thanks to Al (AZWELKE), I present to you, Challenge Coin #92.

I am glad to see you got it so fast...it wasn't doing me any good in the back of my safe. Enjoy, and Thanks for all the kind words. Long Live The Yard.

I collect emergency services challenge coins.

Got my own team of course and 12 other teams from various military SAR and FEMA HUSAR task force groups Canadian, American, uk and Russian.

I dont EVER go anywhere without mine as I cant afford a round of drinks .

Great score Pit. I'm always impressed by how generous many of the folks are around here.
