Waiting for the cash/blade planets to align is part of the fun for me. It took me years to figure this out, but the hunt (journey) is part of the fun.

The Busse stuff is very tough for me to justify more than a couple of pieces of. I fall in to the Scrapyard/Swamp Rat realm. Hats off to those in a position to delve in to the Busse world.

I would hold tight and wait it out.

The hunt is half the fun. I just scored a Desert Dogfather after looking for months for one at a decent price.

The SOD is freaking awesome. I have beat mine and then beat it some more. You really owe it to yourself and as your attorney I highly advise you get one. My favorite and most utilized scrapyard kinfe, so far.
Cheers,
Patrick
I think I have to agree with you on this one Patrick!!
Now it's time to wait. Of course, what did I see on Blade Forums this morning? A black SoD! Just my luck.

I love the SOD, so much that I have a tan and a LE.

I understand buying and trading, even selling. Just make sure it is for the right reasons. I just traded a Chopweiler for a ASH-1 and happy I did because I have the SOD tan and a DDF that are choppers.

I liked my SoD so much, I sold you my mojo, and I'm a huge fan of recurves!

The mojo is a tank knife - it's about eight inches thick and weighs 53 pounds. It chops surprisingly well for such a short knife, and the recurve is NASTY for brush slashing and cutting tasks. It cuts surprisingly well, especially considering the fact that it is a sharpened brick. My sharpening might have something to do with that

The SoD is lighter to carry than the mojo, and will outchop it with the greater length. If I wanted a camp blade to split logs and chop limbs, I would buy the SoD. If I wanted to do those things, as well as pry open car doors and dig up rocks, I'd go with the mojo.

The mojo is a great knife to keep in the trunk of a car. The SoD is a great knife to keep in a backpack.

See, MM, that's my train of thought. I'd keep the Mojo around the house, for stuff like that and get a SoD for my pack. Besides, when I go offshore, I'd like to take something light that doesn't weigh my pack down.
For me, it's not about having one knife for each chore(EDC,Chopper, camp knife, etc) It's about being able to mix and match.
Going camping and saying: HHMMM. Which knife do I wanna take with me today?
Nor is it about rounding out my collection, it's about ADDING to my collection.
There are several Busse I want but price makes me fall into the Rat/Dog catagory.
And believe me, there's NOTHING wrong with that!! Both Companies produce excellent knives with beautiful lines, durability and great prices!!
Can't go wrong with a Buusekin knife!
I have a feeling though that after my SoD purchase I maight lay low for a bit and save up for a Busse. REally like the Jackhammers!!
