I like the green handle on your Regulator. Great pics.

The Regulator looks like a good SHTF type of knife. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Look forward to being able to buy one.

My experience with the KZ is that is it indeed MASSIVE and removes HUGE quantities of wood when used as a chopper.

It outchopped my huge NMFBM.

It outchopped my heavy CAK from HI by a big margin.

It outchopped my Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe.

The only user that I have that can keep up is my Busse AK (I have not used my Waki yet) and I have a lot more control with the KZ. My AK swing placement is much less precise and the blade vibrates a lot so, even though it is an effective chopper, it is definitely not my first choice for chopping. With similar grind angles, the KZ will remove more wood in a short period of time then any other Busse I have used.

The grind angle is thicker than necessary for soft wood but mine was very sharp and gives me a lot of confidence that it won't roll on hard wood under prolonged hard use.

The KZ is a very impressive chunk of INFI. I think that If I were a bit more burly (I'm 6' and 185) the KZ would be a better user for me as the current size is a lot to handle for a guy my size. The NMFBM is about as big as I can comfortably handle in a one handed chopper. An 80% scale 0.20 KZ would be a dream come true for me as I would use it all the time. I have a general preference for thin knives.

Bottom line, the KZ is a specialized knife built for big guys that want to have a massive INFI Khuk.

Don't have a KZ as I have a Ranger Khuk made out of SR 77 and didn't need it. I have two Regs in black/black and black/tan and they are awesome <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />!! Quite a chunk of SR101 for a great price IMO <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />.

Its an impressive looking knife. Not sure I would ever drop the money for one if they become available.

However, an identical piece in SR-77 with Res-C handles from the Yard for <$200 would be a different story.

Yeah, for Yard prices, it would be a fun toy to hang onto and chop the daylights out of stuff. At satin INFI prices, it's too much for me to hang onto it.

Maybe in a couple years, when I'm done paying off my student loans, I'll pick one up on the secondary market at a 200% markup <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I keep checking the tracking on your regulator - excited to see more of these making their way into Dogs' hands.

Plus I've never shipped anything to Alaska before. Sent a Scrapper 5 to Hawaii and was worried it would never make it to the island. Priority mail my butt...

Yeh, most cases if I ship from AK to say OH it will be an avg of 4 days but go to say Florida and it's 6 days. I can bounce most anything in an arc from Chicago to Houston and back toward me to say WA, it will be 2-4 days. Alaska has NO overnight, ONLY 2nd day delivery when you are talking USPS.
