I have been gone from the yard for awhile but managed to get back in the doggy door without getting my tail cought!

Question about the Regulator knives:

What steel is it??? I've seen mention about SR-101, but this is the YARD! I figured a beast like this would be SR-77...

Any help would be appreciated.

It's SR-101, as is the S5 CG. The S5 LE is INFI. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

P.S. welcome back!

...I bet you didn't think you'd have an answer in 6 minutes after posting at this time of night. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I answered your PM over on BF as well, but yeah the Regulator is definitely SR-101.... which is AWESOME!

With the differential temper, it's tougher than you'll ever need, and the edge will last a long time.

Ask anyone which knife they would rather have - a Camp Tramp or a SoD. Most will answer Camp Tramp. They are essentially an identical knife, except the CT has a round choil and SR-101. It's a great, great steel, especially when given a differential temper to up the toughness without sacrificing edge holding.

The Regulator is one awesome chunk of SR101 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. I have only seen it in three color combos- but might be more <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> ? My favorite is the black/tan but all are very nice. IMO this is going to be a classic. Welcome back <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I prefer SR101 to SR77 hands down, I doubt I buy another 77.

INFI is great but expensive and 101 does all I need and more.

Hey guys,

Andy your quick son and at 0408 to boot!!! Thanks for the inputgents cause I just snagged one over on you know where. I had not seen or heard anything about these until the other day but at first glance I knew I had to have it.

I sold of most all of my collection some 45 piece's of Busse Combat alone due to this stinking cancer that knocked me down in Aug of this year. Like I said though I saw this and had to have it. By God I'm not dead and I have to do something for ME. SO I DID I BOUGHT THE SUCKER!!!

Glad to be back at the yard, seem's the friendliness is always here and that's a good thing.

Welcome back, and glad to hear you snagged one. I really like mine and don't plan on it going anywhere except with me to the woods.

Russmo...hope you're able to romp in the yard for a long time to come. I have the brown/black TT Reg and it's my GOTO knife for about any application I can think of.
