To have or not to have, I have made the decision on one--the TT (Yea) and waiting to see on the next one.

+1 and I'm too poor to even buy the offering unless it's worth selling a kidney over!
I'm definitely on the Kidney Donor list... one morning I'll wake up in a bathtub full of ice in a cheap Mexican border-town hotel with $15K under the matress and a bunch of jagged, painful stitches just above and behind my hip-bone, a bottle of antibiotics and a big bottle of advil on the nightstand, and then it's Regulator time! Yeeeeeeeah, bowieeeeeeeee!
We need a 5/16" (or thicker) SR-77 BOWIE!!! (Written back in early '07 -- Regulator Premonition?)

Please release the regulator already. I find myself spending all my money at another bussekin site...it'll all be gone soon (along with my house, car, and wife)!

I do believe that Dan is having the time of his life, what with all this angst over the release of the Reg. I alternate between believing he is seriously trying to design a knife based on the feedback from us dogs and believing he is doing whatever the hell he wants to do with the Reg. He probably should have done the latter from the start.

Considering the basic knife needs of anyone currently serving in the sandbox, 1S1K folks included, the new design is just about ideal. It seems that most of the negativity has come from everyone's assumption that this knife was designed for the backwoodsman and hiker / camper when it is clearly meant to reach its full potential as a combat / field blade. Beating it lengthwise into a log should be at the absolute bottom of the Regulator's to-do list. This is going to be a great all around knife and IMHO Dan has just about nailed it.
