Hey all!

I recently rec'd a "Food Saver" machine as a gift and other than tinder, batteries, and small PSK's, I haven't used it for much else.

I'm wanting to make some MRE-type packages.

Any suggesting on what you would place in them (other than the following)?

So far, I've made a couple containing foil-bagged tuna, crackers, cup o' soup packet, cocoa packet, an energy bar, moist towlette and salt & pepper. Even when sealed, there appears to be some wasted space so throw me your ideas please!

Thanks!

If you didn’t know, you can buy “off brand” foodsaver bags at Walmart that are much cheaper than the foodsaver brand.

Fill the space w/TP,gotta have it.
Military MRE's have it.

It's better to have it & not need it, than to need it & not have it.

They've got Coffee too. You might try bullion as well. You can get the granuales or cubes either one and cup would be good on a cold winters morning.

Also good in a survival situation to make "bug soup" or some other nasty protein source more palatable.

True true. You also can hold your nose until after you swallow the NASTY STUFF. Believe it or not, this DOES help kill the taste.

Yep, yep. And for those that don't think so...try holding your nose and bite an onion. Chew a few times, then release your nose before you swallow.

Those are all great ideas, you can also add some beefjerky, its really light to carry and high in protein.
