This thread got me looking at the Remington 700 SPS Tactical, I like the shorter 20" barrel.

I have a question about the remington 700 4 round internal box, what the heck is it and how does it function? Every video I've seen, the shooter manual loads each round.

With most bolt actions with a fixed/internal box mag.,you push the rounds down into the mag with the bolt open.Every time you cycle/open close the bolt it ejects/feeds a new round.Like a simi, but you rack the bolt yourself.

Thanks for clearing that up.

After some thought, I think I'm going to drop the 7.62x39 (Saiga, CZ 527, and Draco AK pistol) in favor of the .308 (Rem 700, M1A, FAL, AR-10, etc..). I have so many more options and it's what I wanted originally.

It's better to have it & not need it, than to need it & not have it.

I have a plain-Jane Remington 700 ADL in .30-.06 and it's a darn good rifle. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Mrpink, if your thinking of a bolt action .308 take a look at Tikka T3, I have a lightweight version and love it. It's made in Finland and has a rep for great out of box accuracy. They make varmint / heavy barreled versions in stainless or blued. I put a muzzle brake and a shock absorbing pad on it and it feels like shooting a 223. The other thing I like about it is that it is clip fed so loading and unloading is quick and easy. With a Zeiss 3.5x10x40 scope it's one nice shooter.

I think they are imported by Beretta, and you can find them on their site. Most larger dealers have them or will get them.

Nice rifle. I'm actually thinking about an M14 in .308 caliber. I was going to go for an AR-15 but I think I may change to the M14. Here is the one I'm looking at:

Fulton Armory builds some wicked rifles. Not much left to even identify it being an M14

Very nice looking rifle. The whole reason it looks like an AR kinda is to make a DMR rifleman harder for a bad guy to ID.
