I'm so in if this thing is around 200 or a little more than that.

JYD #84 This is my rifle, and that is my SHTF Busse knife.

Cool looking blade. Seems to have a old school look. Looks very handy to me.

The thickness on it is actually .220" (3/16"+).

I went to page 3 of the original post and Jerry edited the post and changed the thickness of it....was hoping it was .187" thick.

Good eye, BC. I will probably pass at that thickness.

Guess this means I can probably withdraw the tweener meaner that I put up for sale to pay for the boss street.

I will probably pass too, I wanted something thinner like .187, oh well, more money for something else.

Hence the abbreviation BOSS - Busse Old School Series. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

ahhhh!!!

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

now I get it... When somebody mentioned it in the thread I really hit home. I was wondering if it was intentional and since the name I see it is. I'm catching on.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

.220....not sounding like a slicer. Good looking, but I like my prybars longer.

Hmmm....I personally don't see any advantage in this over the S5LE....and I doubt in Satin it would be anywhere near as cheap...makes you realise what a cracking knife the S5LE was...especially when they came razor sharp...

My top knives I think I really already own and doubt much can interest me now...

I love my S5LE...thanks Dan...what a cracking knife...

The Basic 9 and DFLE at 16 oz is hard to beat for weight and chopping ability and comfort...

I have a mega expensive FSH Variant but I do like it as the next rung up from the Basic 9.

Then I just go to the NMFBM....or the Zilla if I am short of time...

One thing I really fancy asking the custom shop for...is whether they can offer some Res C grips for the Zilla...

Dan...if you read this...could you do some? Or provide some Res C for me to do my own? The only thing I fancy on the Zilla is more comfortable chopping than using G10 grips...

The Bushwackers don't do it for me...they are a lot heavier than the Basic 9 and the DFLE...plus I have a 12.5 inch Hossum that comes in at 17 oz's...and another which is heavier and bigger but still comes in at 19 oz's...

Anyway...there you go...for me the DFLE is a lot lighter and I reckon it will chop as well as the BWM...but maybe Vic can do a proper comparison.

It's strange is'nt it though how the Yard can make the best knives regardless of price....to be fair if you had a DFLE and a S5LE or even a simple S5...you probably don't need anything else...

The BOSS Street is about an inch shorter than the S5LE, so potentially slightly better as an EDC.

I've never tried a dogfather LE, but I like the bushwacker a LOT more than the desert dogfather I got from the lardoganzaaaaaaa. Although a bushwacker with a res-c handle would be just about the perfect knife ever.

as soon as they started talking .220 I lost interest. I don't have a DFLE but I do have a battlerat and it was my favorite until I got an NMSFNO. My NMSFNO definitely outchops the battlerat but I'll still admit that anything better than the battlerat isn't really necessary. I think any Busse trinity 8+ and 6.5- pair and a folder would give you an ideal blade for just about anything. My favorites now though are the SS4, S5LE, and NMSFNO.

How hard is that Hossum to sharpen? I have an Extrema Ratio Golem in N690 but I've never used it for anything. Is it a Forester or a custom?
