Well, in the entire time I have been here, there have been no new knives. I got a Scrapper 5 from someone who was willing to sell so at least I was able to get my fix before I went all Texas Clock Tower on everyone.

Anyway, I like the S-5 a lot. It has balance and refinement that I wasn't really expecting. I can see now why some people remove the thumb ramp. Can't stand the coated blade (moss). Really love the mudder grip.

Basically what I would like is a 4" full flat ground blade that was thinner than the S-5. 1/8" would not be too thin in my book. The tip should be fairly pointy, at least as pointy as the S-5 and more pointy would be even better. The mudder grip is great but it is just ever so slightly too thin in my hand. Maybe make it just a tad bigger but don't get carried away and make it bulky. I hate choils so no choil please. Make the edge go right down to the guard to maximize cutting edge out of the 4" blade.

That is it! A 4" thin, flat ground Scrapper-5 with satin blade and the few changes I stated. I would buy one for sure. Heck, who am I kidding? After waiting months like this, I would buy anything they put out! I think this is the plan, make up really want it.

I'll probably buy almost anything they put out as long as its a useful knife that I can use.

Sounds like a choilless SS4. What was the grind on the Scrapper 4?

I hope they start sending out some freebie " test" knives like Bushy received. Hey- maybe the Busse Boyz are going to start a massive pass around program.

SS4s were saber ground.

I understand the desire for thinner blades, but there are two issues that I think limit how thinn they'll go:

1) Bussekin Companies, including Scrap Yard, won't disclose how much of their business is military, but I've always assumed that military contracts are a fairly significant portion. That side of their business will dictate specific design requirements.

2) A big draw for Busse Combat, Swamp Rat, and Scrap Yard is their reputation for reliability and no questions asked warranty on hard-use knives. All else being equal, thicker blades hold up better under extreme conditions.

I see no evidence of a mystery test knife.
I want a couple of the new Regs. I don't even need to see them. Just give me a price Dan.

I like Jerry's knives for their appearance but I'm only into funtionality.
I'm perfectly content to wait for Dan's next release.
