I like em' all, but I must admit that the BWM overshadows the NMFBM! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

went from gerbers and crkt knives to scrapyard, think i made a good choice.

it's like beer, when you're young it's whatever you can get cheap, taste and quality didn't count as much as quantity. when you get older you move more to quality.

I am finding that the more I learn about HOW to use my knives the less I am hung up on certain features such as blade length, handle type, with or without choils etc.

I used to be a "choils are a must" guy but that has changed over the past 18 months.

I used to be a "slab handles are a must" guy but that changed.

I used to be a "drop points only" guy but I have come to love bowies and tantos as of late.

About the only thing that has not changed is that I 100% only buy fixed blade knives with guards.

I still like the bowies that I have always liked. But I was a folder/bali guy that has been changed to a fixed blade person. The majority of my fixed blades of late are the SY and Busse.

I simply want one each of a range of blade/handle sizes, starting with my Mud Puppy and ending with my Dogfather. Pretty much accomplished that since becoming addicted to Busse kin knives about 16 months ago.

Lately, I've gravitated more towards EDC size knives because I have a CCW permit and I like to carry!

I've gotten to appreciate varied sizes and bigger blades. When I first found the Yard and Swamp, a RMD was B-I-G! Now, my Camp Tramp seems kinda average and even my Battle Rat makes me think 2-3" more would be fine.

I have the following sizes covered by SY:
MPLE
BDLE
MUKLE
S5LE
SODLE
SOD
Regulator
DDF

SR:
Waki

Busse:
HACK
Culty
Skeleton Key (should be on its way to me next week)
Game Warden
HG55
NMSFNO (should be on its way to me next week)
CGFBM

I am skipping on the BOSS and the BW Mistress since I have those covered. Ones I would like is a production Regulator, DMLE, DFLE, Game Warden Skely, Scofa, and whatever else catches my eye.

I have moved from wanting large knives, like the BWM to smaller blades. I find the Dogfather to be overly long and thick for my use. Smaller blades offer me greater precision and efficiency. Although the scrapper 5 le is my currently most used knife I think it will be dropped a peg by the Boss Streets. I have moved from liking every grind type to actively disliking hollow and being ambivalent about saber grinds. I am less willing to spend money on knives that are further from my ideal. I am now more likely to have my knives modified to meet my perceived needs then to purchase another knife. I have also developed a strong preference for USA companies and manufacturing and am tending to avoid knives made in China simply for that reason.
