Thanks again for all the welcomes.

I forgot to add that I also scored a Condor Golok with some Christmas cash. This thing is a serious bargain.

Welcome MD !!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I scored a bunch of outdoor clothing and guide books for my never ending hikes/ floats in the Grand Canyon <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />. The greatest thing this year for me was in the joy of giving. I gifted several really nice knives- multi tools- headlamps- flashlights and a digital cameras. I also gave my son some really nice ice breaker under garmets to comapare with the MTS from REI. He works commercial fishing so does great testing for me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. Daughter and other employees I gave cash and Garmin GPS units. I really enjoy showing all how quality products are so much more efficient <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. The great part is I learned about all this great outdoor stuff from you guys <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> !! For that I say " Thanks" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> . Looks like you guys received some really great stuff !! Happy New Year <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Welcome MD. Good to have you aboard.
Got Season 2 of Survivorman. Already watched all the shows...<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
As well, got this cool little knife in a Christmas gift exchange.
No makers marks on it that I can see, but it sure is pointy and sure is sharp.
And no, I haven't cut myself on it yet... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the welcome and that looks like a knife made by John Greco. Nice knife.

That does look like a Greco. I did not get much in the way of items, a little cash that was put towards a Marlin 1895 SBL, some socks, a sweater, a few button up shirts and a pair of jeans that don't fit, a gift card that I will use on our 10 year wedding anniversary New Years Eve, toothbrush, and oh yeah a wedding ring to replace the one that was lost several years ago. Bad thing was we were pretty much snowed in so I did not get to spend much time with family or friends so that made it a little dreary. Nice thing though, I did pick up my 1895 SBL today!

I got this from my parents:

12-27-09 - 3

12-27-09 - 4

They also got me a "pocket fisherman".

My cousin got me this book:

The World Encyclopedia of Knives, Daggers & Bayonets
[Linked Image from ianallanpublishing.com]

I got her a Fenix E01, Spyderco Bug, Husky Multitool, Screwz-All, 2 Pico McGizmo clips for the light and knife, and a 2xAAA laser pointer.

My Aunt got me an off-brand stainless steel water bottle.

Andy, I have looked through that book before. There is some really neat history in it. Some of the old world craftsmanship is unbelievable.

I suppose this is as good a thread as any for my first post...

I was given an excellent Victorinox Spirit X multitool. I love it. It is head and shoulders above any multitool I have ever owned (Leatherman, SOG, and others).

I was also given a great Marbles machete that will be a project to turn into some thing more usable. The handle is quite rough.

I used some cash to pick up some good deals on my first two Scrap Yard Knives - a Mud Puppy and a Scrapper 5. I am pretty excited to try them out once they arrive.
Welcome to the yard.
