Ok, so there's two going for the same shop credit amount.

This is where we strategize a bit. Someone should go for that one while the other person should go for another amount.

It would be a bummer if they both went for the same amount and the prize just above or below goes unclaimed at all.

What do you all think?

I seriously doubt ANY prize will go unclaimed. I would not be at all surprised if they receive emails numbering in the thousands for this contest. The odds are pretty good that every single prize will have at least one email sent in.

I trust your thoughts on statics over mine, but I want to help the yard get whatever advantage we can.

The point is - the Yard is such a tiny percentage of the people going for these blades, that it doesn't really matter what the poll says, because the HOGs plus bladeforum mooches outnumber the Dogs by such a huge margin that any poll we do here will be in no way indicative of what will or won't be snagged.


The only way this will tell us ANYTHING is if a whole bunch of people choose one prize so you know that one is gonna be super popular.

Like, I wouldn't bother going for the orange handled S5SE, as lots of people will want that one.

I wouldn't say you're necessarily at square one; I wouldn't even consider this poll to be binding -- I think it's more of a "dry run". If you're selection seems particularly popular, then you may choose to reevaluate what you intend to ask for, or if that's what you really want then you may decide to go for it (after all, somebody's going to be first on even the most popular offers).

As tempting as some of the knives were, I picked a shop credit amount; I selected an amount that I hoped was far enough off the top to have less competition, but as large as I think I have a reasonable chance of getting away with. That being said, actually receiving $50 or even $25 will be more than if you ask for $500 but aren't the first. I'm still a little tempted to ask for the SG4 because I think it's a useful, if ugly, knife, and SSs are so universally disdained that I believe I'd have a decent chance of getting it.

I actually find that scrofa to be one of the best looking ones I've seen. I normally hate the looks of that thing, but taking away the extraneous bumps on the spine does a lot to de-uglify it.
