I will also say that the trickery is fair game because Jerry goes out of his way to warn people about it, in a sticky thread at the top of the forum. If people lack the reading comprehension to understand that, or are too lazy to read that thread carefully and notice the giant bold warning in different colors, warning them about the treachery, then they might deserve to get tricked.
But maybe that's my vindictive side of too many years teaching spoiled rotten liberal arts college kids - I like the idea of teaching people a lesson for not bothering to READ THE BLOODY INSTRUCTIONS
I will agree with you on that point 1000%. I had a college exam that had a line with name_____________________, then the questions. Included in the directions it said to write your name on the back page of the exam, and turn right side up. For those that followed the directions received a 100% and those who did not received a 0%. I loved that class.

Anyone know anything about those swamp rat customs? Are they INFI also or SR101? How about length/thickness specs? I started out with swamp rat, have 1 Busse, but am now all about the yard as the true keepers or the price to performance ratio. that being said, "free" kinda brings swamp rat back into my kind of price to performance.
thanks for the help, damon This question appears to have been lost in the secondary market discussion. The only Swamp Rats that were produced in INFI was a run of less than 200 Bandicoots. They have tan Res-C handles and tan blades and are called INFIcoots. Most Swamp Rats are in SR101, but if memory serves, the Hairy Carry and Vexillarius releases (whis is what what the customs are) were produced in 154-CM. There's also a Ratmandu and a Howling Rat Little Mischief up for grabs -- they're SR-101. The Busse Combats and Scrap Yards in this 'ganza are all INFI.

I believe the Vex is actually D2, not 154CM. Mine definitely stains like D2 when I use it for food prep and the like.

I can see right through all the hype and trickery. The knives come painted with rough finishes and sell for three times their competitor's knives. All this Hog, Rat, and Dog stuff is just plain juvenile. If the knives didn't perform so well and folks on the forums weren't so much fun....I'd quit this insanity! I'll be over at the ganzaaa tonight.

[quote]I just can't comprehend how you argue that more knives being sold, in gigantic "here are 60 different blades I picked up just to sell" threads is somehow driving prices UP. That's crazy talk. [quote]
I'm curious now MM. Would you mind posting a link to this/these threads? I have not been able to find a thread boasting 60 knives purchased just to sell.

Yes- it is fun- especially if the knives are FREE . But- when I have $$$ to spend on knives- I simply am not buying the over hyped INFI . Peformance simply is not there IMO.The KZ is a perfect example of this. If someone spends that kind of $$$ on a knife- it [censored] well better perform without mods. Appears to me because of this they are a flop on the secondary . This kind of trend can and will be dangerous for people who wish to flip steel . Not so with the Regualtor as both price and performance prevail !! I would say that 90 % of INFI sits in a vault or on a shelf whereas SY steel gets hard use. I am all about performance so my $$$ stay right there. Happy Ganza to all- the price is right

60 was a bit of hyperbole - the most I've seen is usually more like 20 or 30, and I'd rather not call out specific people - those discussions open a whole can of worms I'm not willing to deal with right now.

Having said that... bring on the new SYKCOs!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Swamp Rats be the sleepers in this contest - few of the HOGS will bother with anything that's not INFI, and the Swamp RAT forum has been pretty quiet lately, so the Dogs ought to have a good shot at the SR-101 blades.

Several of them have zero votes in our little poll.
I've been thinking about changing to one of them.
