I still FONDLY remember finding out that my name was chosen for the DogFather! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I was happy to receive the free knife, but proud as well that I was responsible for the name, and that Dan himself proclaimed me the "Godfather of the DogFather"!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

On the topic of the Dogfather... It's funny- I think the DF is too (insert an expletive of your choice) big and too heavy, BUT, when I had to take down about a third off the tree in my front garden and turn the branches into pieces I could get in my car to take to a tip (council run house hold waste site), it was DF all the way. It went through 1 1/2" branches with one hit (and that was a dull edge) kept cutting till the job was done and was super comfy in use. I couldn't believe how well it soaked up impacts. I've also found it very good for removing skirting boards quickly when laying new flooring and opening cans of paint! It also made short work of an old sofa too..

I'm not entirely sure it'll ever go hiking with me- unless zombies get loose, but what a great tank of a knife! (I love my S6 more, but that is more of a 'toy', my DFCG seems to be a great tool).

I have been on the yard for over a year now and own most all SY steel times 3 for some. My favorite is the Muk <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. I use it for EVERYTHING but the thing I like to do best is strop it on 2000 grit- followed by diamond spray and then a plain leather strop. The 154 becomes scary sharp and holds an edge that is unreal <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />. For some reason the shape of that knife and the steel is just fun to sharpen <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.I love all my SY knives - but the mudders are by far my most used. Great thread guys- jump in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Thanks Chris <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />!!

I used a SOD to make a fellow dogs cristmas a little brighter.I was inspired by all the stories of dogs getting knives or challeng coins from other dogs.I always thought what a great place this Scrap Yard is. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
He was new to the yard and posted that he was laid off and said he would have to wait to get a SOD. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />I said to myself BS on that and looked for and got one on the bay at the last minute by .50 cents or so. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />Great,so I get it and put it in the mail the next day.It arrived at his place on cristmas eve! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />Perfect timing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
It was my chance to pay forward my good luck <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> and make another dogs cristmas day a little better.
Thats my feel good knife use story. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
