If batoning is going to jepordize the gaurd....and it's a 1/3" chunk of steel, and your not in military situation where you might actually use a fighter......ahhhh The practicality of the knife is evading me. I hope everyone else loves and enjoys them to death!

Nobody puts Regulator in the corner. Good point, my TT is on a pack. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Same here - and i like the new one even better (having only seen the pics)... I can't wait to have a variation of what has become my favorite "Unknown Purpose" blade... What i love about this knife is that it does do so many things well. It's a knife i want with me when i don't know exactly what kind of exigence might arise or what kind of scrape i'll need to stab/slash/chop/hack or dig my way out of. And if it stays in its sheath, that's ok, it's not too big or heavy to be a burdon at all <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
We need a 5/16" (or thicker) SR-77 BOWIE!!! (Written back in early '07 -- Regulator Premonition?)

I like the knife so I will buy a few and put them under the seat of my rigs <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. One hell of a knife for those special situations <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />. I can see where some wouldn't have a use- but many don't use skinners either ? There are guys that go many years and never skin one animal. On the other hand there are guys like myself that skin deer - elk- cats - bear etc on a regualr basis. Doubtful i would use the Reg for that as i have knives like the Muk-BDLE- MPLE etc. Right tool for the right job <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Bring em on- I'll take a few for sure <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />-Thanks

The rear guard isn't a big deal IMO. I'll probably cut mine off (mostly).
In that way it's better without steel reinforcement.
