That is what I like about SY- you can beat on it and still have a decent edge <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Actually I am doing a lot of hand sharpening right now and finding out more about these steels. A fellow Dog has taught me a bunch about the heat traet and even some steels like 1095 can be pretty awesome if it has the correct heat treat on it. I am also going to get a chance to try some "01" which is supposed to be pretty awesome.I have been super impressed with the SR101 and the Reg is one big chunk of this at a great price <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />. 100 bucks with pants is hard to beat <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
If I was back in the day (military) and anywhere near the Zombies I'd take the swedge on that Reg and bring it to a LOOONNNNGGGGG enough point that I'd just have to wave it and the gooks would scatter at their 6'o'clock.
Waki for zombies, Regulator for general use, SOD for general outdoor, BWM for Oklahoma, and others for the heck of it. Great thing is they hold their value, and I can take my pic for what ever chore.
