Sweet! Thanks for the clarification Dan, and thanks for the discount too (you'd be surprised how many "for military" items/companies do not offer such a gracious military discount policy) . Can't wait for the blade and thanks also for taking some of the stress off but making enough/limiting quantities so that more people can have a shot of a great knife at a wonderful price!

We have never been able to offer a military discount...just do not have the option as a small company. However this was a unique opportunity I am playing it for all its worth. Those that serve mean a lot to us and it is our small way of saying thanks

Dan

I'm new to the Yard, and looking forward to my first Scrapyard Knife; but I'm a little nervous about sending a photocopy of my police I.D. I wish you guys could call my work to verify my position.

Heck I need to fined out if I'm even allowed to I'm also a Veteran but it's been along time, I don't even have military I.D. anymore sep my DD214 papers.

If I can't no biggy I'll just pay regular...get it regular regulator...nevermind
been up since 3am

8Elements....you are wise to be concerned. As a disclaimer to the following, I have not done much more homework / research on the announcement. I posted this over on bladeforums, and people barely raised any interest.

My CO informed us of this announcement back in December, as folks were asking about establishments that request photocopy's of .gov ID's for merchandise purchases and verification of service.

http://www.army.mil/-news/2009/10/07/28452-photocopying-military-cac-ids-a-violation-of-federal-law/

Interesting information, either way. I need to research how establishments might verify enlistment, if we really are not allowed to photocopy IDs. Not trying to stir the pot here, just adding info to hopefully help get some creative ideas.

Dan, I would like to say thank you for supporting those that serve. When I hear about small companies such as SYKCO, and their efforts to support the enlisted, it just makes me want to in turn support said company. For a small company, cashflow is king...and you so generously put that at risk when offering these types of discounts to those which serve our country. You and your team, in return are giving back in substantial ways that can be easily forgotten by those looking in from the outside. I'm blabbing...and now WAY off topic...so, I'll close with an honest "Thank You".

ok so I need a little clarification.
On the old plan Dan makes an announcement of the new knife, and the release date.
Will the knives be on the company store web page?
Will I pay for them right there on the spot? or will i place an order then pay later.
Will I send in my government credentials with the payment or should I send them now?

all help is appreciated

The knife will be on the website order page when it becomes available. Once you place your order you will then need to send me an email at renee@scrapyardknives.com with your proof of military/rescue/TT knife #. I will send a reply email once I have received the email, but please realize that if you do not get an email right back it does not mean I did not receive the email, I am going to be gone from Thursday afternoon until Monday, so I will not be able to get back with people right away. Some of the knives will be ready and ship sooner than others, so there is a chance that the credit card will be charged sooner than 4-6 weeks from placing your order. The knife will stay up on the website for ordering for 4-6 weeks.

When you place your order on the website it will be for the orignal price and then once you email me your correct information I will then do the discount on the invoice. The discount is going to be good for all of the Regulators while it is up on the website order page.
