I like the retention strap. You can't beat silent.
I think maybe that front loop is for attaching something to it, am I correct?

myketheknife: The belt loop is in the back, where the retention strip is. The belt loop hold the retention strap in. My peices of leather where not long enough to fold over a belt loop, so I stitched on another piece to act as a belt loop. Its difficult to see, but its the piece of leather behind the retention strap.
Spider-Pig: Yea, i like the "silent" stud. I did it just because its easier to take on and off than a snap but is as more sturdy.
The front loop is for attaching something or strapping to my leg. I almost never use belt-carry for Medium to Large knives like the SOD, most of the time, ill carry it in a Baldric which is also what the front look is for.

-On the Breeden sheath, there is no belt loop, I simply did away with it. I carry that knife in a bladric, and those two cross-straps work perfectly. The stitching is horrible on that sheath though, I hand-drilled the holes so they didn't really line up well.
