I had an Urban Mutt. It was flat ground like the DMLE and DMDC. Mine had a sage colored blade. It was a fine knife, but I prefer the mudder handles to the small handles. I think it came from Blade West. I sold all my small handled Scrappers. With the Bird Dog, Mud Puppy, Scrap Muk, and S5, I have the smaller scrappers covered. My girls still have their YKLEs, but their hands are much smaller.

The Mutts were fine, but I like the Scrapper 5 better. Once Dan started coming out with the line of mudder handled knives, I got spoiled. Here are some of my old Mutts.

HD, I got my Urban Mutt from you in the exchange over at BF (I'm amflud over there). Gotta tell you I have really enjoyed that knife, and nice convex job BTW.

The urban mutt isn't nearly as chunky as the DMCG, but still plenty stout.

I'm glad you are pleased with it, SP. It's fine rugged outdoor knife.

SpiderPig - I think I might be the latest owner of the pictured Urban Mutt (assuming HD only had this one and SP sold it to someone...who then sold it to me).

When the Urban Mutt I bought last night arrives I fully plan on using it extensively as a EDC / Bushcraft knife. Its finally found it permanent home <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />.

Now I need to learn how to sharpen a convex edge <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

It's the same one as far as I'm aware. Here's how to sharpen a convex edge:

Or at least, one technique. Hope you love the little blade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

md - awesome. I like knowing the "provenance" of my Mutt <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Sharpening a convex edge is going to take some practice - hope I don't hurt the knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I have no doubt I will!!! Per our conversations - expect usage pictures to pop up periodically <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Thanks again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
