A couple folks wanted to better understand the differences between the Dumpster Mutt and Howling Rat. I have a pretty crummy camera but I took a few photos for comparison.

The overall length of the two knives is close with the Mutt just slightly longer by 3/8 inch. The HRLM has a 4" blade but a relatively long handle. The Mutt has a 5" blade and somewhat shorter handle. The Mutt is slightly heavier than the HRLM.

The Dumpster Mutt is a fatty in comparison to the HRLM with a blade thickness of .285" versus the HRLM's .187" blade thickness.

I hope this helps folks understand a little better how the HRLM is different from the Dumpster Mutt.

Cool! Thanks Kraz! how does the blade thickness of the DM compare to the DF?

Hopefully my HRLM will show up this week!

Dogfather is spec'ed at .275" blade thickness vs. .285" for the Mutt.

The HRLM is a neat knife, I'm glad I was able to snag one.

Kydex from Leatherface. As much as I like leather, the Mutt is a Kydex kinda knife.

It just shows how big and burly that thing is! I am tempted to actually try and pry the door off of the truck instead of just cutting it!

The spine shot is downright sexy...

IB has 0 HowlingRatLM, 5 DM's, and 1 HR GenII, and 1 HFat GenII, and i would not have it any other way....

a little fat never hurt anyone.

Look at it this way. Sure it's tough not having your Mutt yet, but every new post, pic, and opinion lets your excitment grow - knowing yours is on the way. Fatty Mutt = Happy dog! Happiness is coming boys.
