a little mineral oil. Get it at the drug store, a little bottle will last for 50 years.....its also food safe

I use 3 in 1 or wd40, unless you use it for food prep, then mineral oil is probally best

+ 1 on the mineral oil. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
I have also used Renaissance Wax and Tuff Cloths (reg and marine) with good luck. The marine tuff cloth forms a really tough barrier against moisture.

Break-free CLP...but not for food prep. Use mineral oil instead.

USAGE! Use it and put it away after cleanig it off. If it rusts, use it again. Or do like I have done for years. Use it and clean it. If it rusts, next time you go outside stick it in the ground several times to clean it, wipe it off and put it up. Eventually it won't rust 9at least my most used knife of years ago hasn't.

Like others it is Breakfree, 3-1, or even motor oil for my users/choppers. Anything that will touch food I use whatever cooking oil is handy.
