If they wont make a kukri then some version of the DF would be good. The Regulator is great but I'm also in the mood for a Big Chopper

A few ideas:

1) An all-around camp food prep knife. Maybe, as someone suggested, a 154cm Santoku with Mudder grips. Or a flat-ground chef-style. Just in stainless and a bit thinner than regula(tor), to make it a slicer. Or maybe even a camp/hunting set!! (Maybe a Weiner-style for small work/skinning/filleting, a Chef's knife for all other cooking chores and a steak/cutlery knife to help you eat your catch/game!)

2) I like the idea of a folder; but all the extra components that would need to be made in-house may make this a little too labour-intensive compared to the usual process? But a nice, thick 154cm (or even do two types- sr77/sr101 and 154cm) blade with a simple, strong liner lock would be nice. Just a plain clip-point blade, but made simple, comfortable and strong.

3) Maybe you could do a "World Chopper Series"? Take some chopper blade types from around the world and re-do them with Sr77/Sr101 (Or INFI for some LEs) and Res-C for chopping strength and comfort. You could do goloks, machetes, barongs, etc, etc, along with traditional Western choppers and Busse-style choppers. It might also be an excuse to re-release the DF...

4) +1 to a neck-knife...

5) +1 to a camp axe...

I might come back sometime and add some more as I think of them...

David.

I talked to both Dan and Jerry about kukris at Blade. It would be very expensive to produce a kukri using the modern manufacturing methods that are used at Busse. The stock would have to be really wide, and you would end up grinding most of that fine steel away. A less radical shape than the traditional hand forged kukri could be done and still keep the price reasonable. Maybe more of a bolo or something. If you'll notice even the Killa Zilla kukri is much less radical in shape than most traditional kukris. And even that one cost a lot to make. I just thought I'd share that with the Yard. I like kukris, too. But we don't want it to cost too much. That would defeat the purpose of SY knives, to offer maximum performance at affordable prices.

thanks for that HD, I hadn't thought of it like that, but it makes alot of sense. Although I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for one from the Yard. Maybe as a pre-order deal like the Swamp did the Wakis.

Anything, soon!

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.

Regulator handle on a "leaf blade" - sort of a wide dagger, 7'ish inches of blade. Available in CG and LE.

Also - Dogfather and Son of Dogfather ALWAYS available in the store or via order, at least for several years.

like the weiner dog, but l/4 INCH shorter and just a little fatter blade with a hint of belly to it. In other words not as much of a fillet knife look. Guess I could always get one and grind off about a quarter inch or so? Hmmmmm?

I'm not joking when I say that I'd like a cutlass. The others Bussekin companies have done katana-like swords; I want the Sea Dog. If not that, then something at least golok-sized, but I'd probably pass on a khukri or an ax -- I'm covered there. Kraz's SS4 in 154CM suggestion would almost certainly sell well, as would more Wiener Dogs.

Arrgh! Prepare to be boarded! A cutlass would be cool.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Don't care- just MORE steel . SY doesn't produce anything that is junk-I want one release per month with an auto subscribe. That way when I am traveling and come home- they simply whack my card and I have steel waiting for me.Like an auto " I'll take it" -that way I don't miss out. Maybe others are interseted in this also-I know I am not giving a specific type of knife- but it would take some of the hassle out of buying. Thanks

Better yet, how about a diret payment plan CC from Busse! Then the wife really an't complain about the CC.
