(I'm in CT, grew up in Mass and have a sis in Lee, NH)

I no longer have the Zilla, it's been replaced by a FBM LE that's become my new "heavier" chopper. I already screwed that one up (Vendetta watched me shift the handle slab while batoning it quite hard with a giant club of wood, I guess I got bad luck.

Anyway, the zilla main problem was it's primary grind, it was obscenely fat. I like fat knives, well to be more direct, I like fat spines but this knife very literally could not bite passed it's initial cutting edge as the fat convex grind stopped it from doing so. Some 40 grit belts and a massive inhalation of INFI dust fixed this problem. The Dogfather on the other hand was close to the perfect knife IMO. It chopped reasonably well, although it wasn't great at some of the huge stuff I had in my yard, for what it is (A camp/survival blade), it did great. I really don't plan on chopping through 8 inch diameter trees while camping, I just did so for the sake of testing.

It was a lot faster than the zilla as well, and as Vendetta can attest to, I'm not a weakling, but by the end of testing the zilla, I could barely lift my arms or make words. I was almost forced to grab the dogfather.

In the end, sure the DF took probably twice as many chops as the larger Busse, BUT i'd rather take twice as many chops and be comfortable at the same time.

I'm already on the hunt for a Dogfather, as soon as one pops up on blade forums it'll be mine but its kind of dry right now, and I can leave vendettas alone lol.

I want a CG one, beat it senseless until the coating is almost entirely gone, then strip it, grind off the saber grind into convex and give it a satin finish, then buy a new one to keep in original form to compare them.
