1. Was the SS4 produced in INFI and SR-77, and is it safe to assume no "INFI" logo implies SR-77?

2. Were these only produced with coated blades?

RN answered your question, but if you have have a line on one that's not coated, it's possible that someone stripped their SS4. The coating isn't difficult to remove with chemical stripper, although coated blades often have grind marks and "INFI dimples" under the coating. Polishing those out would would be more difficult and probably also remove the logo stamp.

the SS4 was an "introduction" blade to help Scrapyard get really noticed! the Scrapper-6 (S6) was the first, came out in September 06 then the SS4 came out in December 06.

the SS4 was only made in INFI and Jerry and Dan gave it to us at a sweeeeet deal! even the hogs bought a ton!

the only other SY blade to come in INFI is the S5 and that was an INFI deal too!

at first all blades were coated, they are less expensive to produce because the raw surface imperfections are hidden. making them shinny and perdy takes time and effort!

Dan said he's never doing another Dogfather LE again! lol maybe if we beg and cry enough! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'd love to see another run of SS4 someday.

When we did that thread for the inter-busse knife contest, I was surprised i was the only one to say SS4...I said with sr101 for price-performance!

Seemed like a good idea at the time! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It had a satin finish. Since they did not come from Scrap Yard this way, it is possible the temper may have been degraded.

Not all coated SS4s have the "INFI" logo; like the one in the picture below. Even so, it's still INFI?

So far, all the SS4s have been INFI. The SS4 design would be a really sweet knife in 154cm.

There's an easy way to tell if a knife is INFI, logo or not. Carefully put the spine under your nose. Gently inhale. If it smells like crisp $100 bills then it's INFI. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
