Sooo, since i now have two SYKnives, i have noticed that they both have the same defect.
The handle fastener tubes are not set right, on my Scrapper 5, there is a dent on the left side, backwards, like someone put a screwdriver through it and pulled backwards. Exept there's no dent on the opposite side.

On my new Military Regulator, it's much more severe, with a similar dent on the right, with what appears to be an actual small breach of the tube wall.
And additionally, the whole tube is malformed, it looks like the Resiprene c handle has forced it back somehow with so much force that it bent the tube.

I haven't seen anything like that on any of mine, contact Dan, he will make it right.

My regulator has the same thing. Looks great from one side and deformed on the other. I was thinking it was part of the process with res-c.

My Regs also have the same thing. Not a big deal for me.

Just because you're right doesn't mean I'm wrong.

A few of my SYKCO's have not-quite-perfect tubes and the Res-C by them is a bit rough.
Never bothered me either. Doesn't affect the performance of the knife, and I know they inspected them for stuff that would.

I've beat a couple of them half to death and they've always begged for more.

But your opinion is what matters here, bro. It's your knife. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I agree with Ron & Joe- but wouldn't hurt to ask Dan <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

While I agree with Bob's agreement with Ron & Joe, I feel the need to make note that Scrap Yard's Knives aren't showpieces. They're hard-use knives, so we typically don't sweat minor cosmetic stuff so long as it doesn't impact performance. I haven't seen exactly what you're describing, so I don't know how severe it is, but that's just something to keep in mind.

It's better to have it & not need it, than to need it & not have it.

I have 4 of them and they seem fine to me. They are not polished and perfectly smooth, but I didn't expect that out of a $100 knife designed for hard use. I never even looked until I saw the OP | | |

I have the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't affect the performance of the knife.

This is my rifle, and that is my SHTF Busse knife.
