Some of my Scrappers have less than perfect tubes. Never had a handle to come off, so I just never worried about it. If it is really messed up, just contact Renee and you can get a new eyelet tube put in. For me, if it ain't broke....

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Hmmm.... well i assume that it could be difficult to get the tube in if you need to have such an extremely snug fit with the handle that it actually bends the tube.
But why was it made that way...

i was disappointed when my first scrap yard, the DMCG, arrived with what i would learn was a trademark defect.

purely cosmetic.

Sooo, since i now have two SYKnives, i have noticed that they both have the same defect.

The handle fastener tubes are not set right, on my Scrapper 5, there is a dent on the left side, backwards, like someone put a screwdriver through it and pulled backwards. Exept there's no dent on the opposite side.

On my new Military Regulator, it's much more severe, with a similar dent on the right, with what appears to be an actual small breach of the tube wall.
And additionally, the whole tube is malformed, it looks like the Resiprene c handle has forced it back somehow with so much force that it bent the tube.

Unless the handle tube is crushed, it is most likely not a defect. The tubes that attach the handle are not going to be without marks. They are put on under high pressure and insure that the handle cannot come off.

If you did recieve a knife where the tubed is crushed or deformed, we will fix the problem...we stand by our warranty.

I have sent you a private message about this situation.

Dan

Well, this doesn't bother me to the degree that i would go to the trouble of sending it back and forth across the sea...
If you promise to take a quick peek at that fastening procedure to see that it's done right, i'll gladly buy another Regulator.

if you want another Reg why dont you just order one? these things beg to be used, a little dent would stop you from ordering what you want? if the handle ever comes off itll be replaced with the best warranty in the world

I notice a little crease in the tubes of mine, looks to me like the metal flowed with the dies and kinda bunched up a little where they meet. Doesn't bother me a bit!

How many other knife forums would you see the actual maker post in response to a problem and offer to stand behind the warranty? Not too many I'm guessing.

What a great company and product!
