I haven't really had a chance to try out the seven inch clip point knives, have to get one and give it a shot. Probably would beat the bowie style on chopping I would guess, but sort of nice to have the stabbing/detail work point of the bowie too.

I think the 7 or so inch blade bowie style knives are probably the best all around wilderness/camping knives
7 or so inch blade SR101 clip points like the Camp Tramp and drop points like the Chopweiler still get my vote for best all around wilderness/camping knives. But if I didn't have one of those, I wouldn't hesitate to carry a Regulator.

I'm gonna try to snag a chopweiler, i wanna test it out.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.

I don't plan to be a knife collector, I just want a really good hard use knife. But I have never had a SY knife in hand. Pictures are helpful but you really have to hold it. Maybe you will be right about the addiction once I feel it. I bet there are other guys here who just thought they would get one.

when you pick one up you definately know its there and just by the heft of it already tell its stronger than other thin cheapo knives

cutleryscience.com seems to not be there anymore but I read a lot over there when I first got into bussekin knives. Anybody know if that site has moved?
Cliff has gone dark, I'm afraid. Some people didn't care for his attitude. But I owe him a debt of gratitude for introducing me to Bussekin knives. And I miss his knife reviews. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I wondered what happened to Cutleryscience.com. I never spoke to the author, but his reviews lead me to Bussekin!

If you know him - please ask him to bring the info back. I was recently trying to educate someone about knives and needed his info.
