... And I imagine that Lackland has changed some since 1974 when I went through!....
I only recognized two things there: the Dorms and the view of downtown San Antonio from the obstacle course. Forty-three years is a long time. Most airplanes had propellers when I went through, and the Air Force itself was only 20 years old.
Here are over 800 new airmen taking the oath of enlistment.

Bonnie got the National Defense ribbon for enlisting in a time of conflict, and another ribbon just for completing basic. They gave us a stripe and a pay raise "back in the day".
