Had my sights set on a canoe but had priority plumbing issues that needed attention so the canoe will have to wait.

As I mentioned earlier there's always the chance of running into one of these... The odd Hippo going for an early morning surf...

The is our local beach... lol.

The heck with that. Hippos are dangerous. Give me a good ole grizzly bear anyday. I can outrun a grizzly in deep water in my Kayak.

I don't know enough about croc's to where I'm worried about them or not. Gators usually aren't a big deal.

I've never tried kayaking, but WOW it looks like fun.
Thanks for the pictures.

I don't think I'd like to kick that big old Hippo in the but to move him on. :D

I told my wife I wanted to be cremated. She made me an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. grin

@ MonekyBomb... There's a few basic differences but besides their jaw shape, their size and colour - Alligators are almost friendly. They'll move off if disturbed whereas Crocodiles are definitely not friendly, they'll attack you if you get too close and are extremely aggresive.

Here's a photograph taken at a local Game Park/Reserve of a Crocodile carrying a full grown Warthog in it's jaws. Just by looking at how much of the road this guy covers it gives a good idea of his size.

That looks very much the same as our river country in Northern Territory Australia?

They take the tourists out on open boats for croc feeding. The problem is that there are so many up there now they are feeding on a lot of the tourists.

They wait on the small aluminum boats with fishermen, fishing for Barramundi and just pluck them out of the boats.
