There are an amazing number of moose that have been unable to tell the difference between a .303, .300 winmag and .338. Shot placement is paramount.

There is nothing I would hunt with my 308 or a 30/06 for that matter that I wouldn't use a 303 for just as easily

the ross wasn't a bad rifle, but it got a terrible reputation in WWI due to its terrible ammo it was a target rifle, not a war rifle. after owning one i see why, impossible bolt to disassemble/reassemble, 1907 model would kill you if you put back together wrong and the loading mechanism can clog easily. fun to shoot though. iirc the original ammo was paper hulled as well well the big part was it cloggin with mud in the trenches. to load, you pull down the lever on the right side of the handguard, which lowers a spring loaded floorplate, into a large magazine compartment and you then just drop the five rounds in. this would clog with mud making is useless

Doing good. Been tank shopping.
I've got a beautiful Irish contract No. 4 Mk 2 sitting in my safe. Love those things. First big bore I shot in Cadets a few years back. wish i would have kept 1 or 2 of the ones i had over the years. I once sold 2 jungle carbines and a no. 4 mk 2 for $200 for all three Yikes! Next time you decide to do something similar feel free to drop me a line so I can help. young and stupid nuff said

Mine suffered from rust on the inside and is borderline unsafe now.
