so, I'm gonna try my hand at a leather/kydex hybrid sheath, but I can't decide which knife to make it for, Yard Hook, Vex, S5 LE, MPLE. Any suggestions?

Nice. I wanted to make a hybrid sheath as well, but I wanted to use leather for both sides, and then cut out a piece of kydex to form the liner around the knife, with a tab on the kydex to let the knife snap into the sheath. I don't know how to explain it more clearly..

do it for whatever knife you need a sheath for or which one needs a better sheath.
the smaller blades like the MPLE will use less leather and kydex, but the kydex will scuff your finish.

are you planning on doing a relatively normal belt sheath?
