I occasionally post at the other place, but it isn't near as fun as this place. I mainly hang around there for the exchange forum as well as the Busse and Swamp Rat forums.

Significantly more time is spent here though...

Oh, I hate this! Me too

I'm a rare poster over there. Pretty much confine myself to the Swamp Rat, Busse Combat, Wilderness Survival and Exchange. All the Busse forums are respectful.

The Wilderness Survival forum is a crap shoot. I sometimes get tired of the thousandth post on why the Mora 2000 is the world's best knife and you really don't need anything but a Mora and an SAK. However, there's an occasional nugget that makes it worth while.

I think I may spend some more time over in the British Blade forums... I agree with Ug.

That’s what I love about here and Swamp Rat. Everyone is kind, respectful, and intelligent. It’s more like a “Brotherhood of the Blade(s)”. We all share something in common (the knives) that most of the people in the world just don’t understand. We can have informative learning posts, or just chat about nothing. Maybe high quality knives just attract a better class of people?

HD I agree with you completly. And I can add a couple of sword forums as well to the list. Sadly this sort of thing is all to common in many forums. And the worst part is there is a lot of knowledgeable people who have a lot to contribute but are driven away by this conduct.

This with out a doubt the best forum and I'm glad to be a part of it.

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....

I am a gold member (that means I sent them money) of another forum. That other forum is a leading forum for knife users. I will never post on that forum again. The absolute rudeness and elitism that pervades that forum is sickening. A decent man who works for a knife and tool company was seeking honest feedback from users of his products. He received nothing but scorn and ridicule. We all love SYKCO knives on this forum. We eagerly await each new offering, like hungry dogs. In between offerings we talk about everything from cheap collector fantasy knives to zombies, but we do it with humor and mutual respect. I have never seen a post here that intentionally insulted another poster. This is the best knife forum going. After today, don't look for any HD posts on BF.

I believe that the brotherhood/sisterhood of the Yard and the honorable nature of the Dogs makes this a great place to share, learn and just have fun. Everyone is welcomed and respected regardless of their knowledge or experience with knives and or any other subject for that matter.

Its a great group and we all take pride in keeping the Yard the way it is. Nothing less would ever be tolerated.

HD: If it's the forum I think it is I have learned to stay away and/or ignore the idiots. There are still some decent folks there but if mods do their job correctly the type of ridicule you describe should be beat down quickly. We, as decent people/members, can help with this.

But, yeah, you are right. Lots of dopes there. But some great fellow as well.

Now the Yard on the other hand is all good. As it should be. I like it here a lot!

I think this tends to happen on really big forums. You just get a larger mix of people and the jerks start to come out. I read bladeforums a lot but don't post much because of the environment. The few times I have posted it has been in the Busse or Swamp Rat forum if that tells you anything.

I read the www.ar15.com forum a lot also but don't post too much for the same reason. It is a very large site and there are a lot of elitists and jerks. Honestly I don't post here very much either but this is definitely a friendlier environment than the bigger forums.

Victor my good friend,

You are NEVER alone. I used to just place people on my IGNORE list on BF. Then I realized like you that the majority of posts and replies are so rude and disrespectful I want no part of it.

It is exactly because of you Vic,Kraz,Dice,Dan Melone,Gravelface,Andy,C.O. Ted,Leatherface,Rainwalker,Bors,Mag,Klink, and so many others I can't even begin to remember.
And of course the owners of this forum DAN AND PATTI BUSSE.

We are unique in our love, understanding, caring , and respect and tolerance of each other. This place to be is a TRUE forum and brotherhood if you will.

You know when you log in that only good things await you here. Isn't that true?
I am sure you ALL would agree with that.

That is why this is a safe haven to be. To change ideas, share tips and tests.
To laugh and clown around. To pray for others and hope for their well being.

We are so far ahead of ANY other forum in our manner and decorum that I will NEVER look anywhere else for my companions of thought.

God Bless the Yard. We all ROCK!!!

Peace.

Some people just never learn.

I agree POP, this is the main forum I post on and the only others are Swamp and Busse (both very infrequently, though I did hang at the swamp until the yard opened).. I have posted about 3 or 4 times in BF in about 2 years. This is a much better forum for its spirit, friendliness and good information. Dan and Patti lead a tight pack of good dogs.
