One thing WE don't do is anything dealing with anti-virus software unless we buy it new or we KNOW it's from Norton (which is the one we use).

I would rather face a horde of Zombies armed only with my trusty Dog father (ok,, a 12ga would be nice) than try and deal with removing a virus.
