I thought about trying to make my own, but by the time I bought the stuff to do it and messed up a couple, I would have been better off to just buy them. It is surly a learning curve!!! I'm gonna try again with the thinner kydex I have. I think that was a small part of my problem.

My Fallkniven is an H1, and I really like the F1 as well. First I have to learn how to sharpen them, they're convex from the factory and I haven't ever done that

I also use the back of a notepad for stropping, it works pretty well, even if my co-workers do think I'm out of my mind

I have seen from 400 up. Preference I guess. the finer the grain the longer it takes I think.

I stopped by the auto parts store last week, thinking that sheet metal sandpaper would be better than woodworking sandpaper. I just left emptyhanded and even more confused.
