All of my knives except the gerber are 'V' edge so I've been looking at the EdgePro Apex. it seems to me dummy proof (or ME proof).

But now I've got a DF coming to use for a chopper, so the OC will end up behind the truck seat for emergency use only

I have been having trouble sharpening my recurves. It is difficult to keep the media "straight" to the sharpener!

I looked at the Edgepro, thought I would try the Sharpmaker first. I get OK results with it, but I'm sure I could do better.

I have yet to sharpen my OC, and I don't have but one other recurve and it's smaller. Kershaw Blur, my EDC pocket knife.

Sharpmaker does pretty good with the Blur, but probably because it's not a very big knife.

I carry the Sharpmaker with me to work every day, and take care of all my deputies' knives for them. I usually sharpen 1-2 a night. Keeps me in practice and them happy

One of my friends bought the Sharpmaker I haven't used it yet but I want to get a mirror polish on my blades and the Sharpmaker won't get that fine. You also have to hold the knife the sharpener properly and I don't like my chances.

But I'm getting plenty of practice with all different kinds and types of blades

That's also another prime reason why the Yard is the best!!!!
