Hey JJ, I just glanced over your Bio. I gather that you are A Marine that happens to be in the Journalist MOS? (At my very advanced age (and being retired AF) I get things wrong sometimes)!

Things are going well. Presentation went well. So we're on to the next step. I have another presentation tomorrow, so I'm can't sleep. I figured I'd stop by and say "hello".
I've been busy, but have had time to get out and de-compress. I cut some firewood with my cousin up on Chinook Pass. It was a blast. I had a chance to use my Blades and shoot my XDM. I spent some time with my kids at the park today. Good times. But things are getting busy.

Oh yeah, sorry for the Scrap Yard Lobo confusion. It is from the book "World War Z." The Marines in the book developed a shovel/axe hybrid tool they called the "Lobo," as in "Lobotomizer." As for the Scrap Yard part, that was just wishful thinking. That sound like a cool tool.

OK JJ, I read WWZ AND Zombie Survival Guide. As I said, being retired Air Force, my head is still "up in the air" head! haha

we've tried to get dan to get us an axe but we got a sword on the way. The short swords (like the AK) are actually really useful. I used mine to limb some trees. I tried it just for fun, but found that it worked quite well. The Scizzy will be an excellent way for Dogs to try out just how useful a short sword can be. In fact, I used it to cut the grass that's too close to my tree's base to get with the riding lawn mower. And, I thought about using it for food prep, just for fun.

Hey K, it would probably work out for food prep really nice if you were preparing ELEPHANT!

While I have the KZ, I think that the AK would actually work well for big melons and stuff. What the heck am I thinking? The next thing you know I'll be using my gladius for peeling potato.

Skunk Hunter, yes I am a photojournalist/writer in the Marines Corps.
As for those two books, both are brilliant. I do prefer the audio version of WWZ though. It sounds like you are listening to a reporter's voice recorder notes, and it has a pretty solid cast of actors.

Me and some Marines made our own versions of the Lobo a few years back during a deployment, but we ended up with some very useless pieces of metal. I am interested to see what they look like in the movie when it comes out.
